MinnPost Seeks Rural Writers

The Blandin Foundation awarded funding to three projects this summer that focus on using broadband or the Internet to improve connectivity.  MinnPost received a three-year, $225K grant to include a rural point of view.  MinnPost is a non-profit, non-partisan high-quality news site for people who care about Minnesota.  Because of the Blandin grant, coverage and outreach has expanded to include Greater Minnesota.  The on-line news service discusses issues pertinent to Minnesotans. The recent grant will reach out to residents in greater Minnesota asking them to share their opinion.  MInnPost is seeking writers from rural Minnesota.  The website which has been up and running since 2007 provides insight into topics of interest in Minnesota and depends on guest writers for the majority of its content with dozens of the best-known journalists in the area contributing.

The issues and concerns facing greater Minnesota are sometimes vastly different than those faced by residents in the Metro area.  MinnPost is looking for contributions from rural writers in greater Minnesota; people that are willing to share their opinion.  If you are interested or know someone that may be interested, MinnPost can be reached at www.minnpost.com.  Two on-line newsletters are available for those that wish to receive them.  You can sign up for a daily email newsletter that goes out at 11 AM each day or the weekly edition with greater Minnesota coverage.

A portal to MinnPost is available through the Region Five website at www.regionfive.org.  We are not endorsing the sight merely providing a convenient portal.
