Thomas joined R5DC as their Mobility Manager in 2024, with a primary emphasis on transportation initiatives. Through the Regional Transportation Coordinating Council, his focus is to work with public, private, and non-profit transportation providers to increase access to, and reduce gaps in, the transportation options for individuals within the region.  Before arriving at R5DC, Thomas worked for the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Isanti Soil & Water Conservation District, and MNL. He brings a wide range of skills and expertise ranging from natural landscapes to conservation planning to engineering design.

 

Thomas received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Iowa in Astronomy & Physics and a Master of Science degree from North Dakota State University in Environmental and Conservation Science.  Thomas enjoys spending time outdoors in nearly any activity, beekeeping, traveling with his wife, being Mr. Fix-it on their hobby farm, and attending his two kids’ many sporting events (soccer, baseball, cross country, curling, etc).
