Region Five Development Commission (R5DC) announces the selection of the community of Long Prairie as a member of their Welcoming Communities Project. This is a community-led project that exemplifies goals that bridge cultures, funded by a grant from the Northwest Area Foundation.
The Long Prairie community has formed a Welcoming Community Advocacy Group, made up of students, educators, residents, elected officials, nonprofit and community leaders. The Welcoming Communities program is focused on workforce attraction and expanding cultural agility for individuals, organizations, and communities.
